NCBI’s mission is to enable people who are blind and vision impaired to overcome the barriers that impede their independence and participation in society.  This is achieved by campaigning, research, information and direct service provision.

NCBI has begun to develop a biographical archive of vision impaired people over the past two years and is currently focusing on the parenting of vision impaired children.  This is in addition to field work by specialist staff in supporting parents of young children.
